First Time Here?
If your company is brand new to Tellus, start with these:
- Account Setup — Create your account, verify your email, and log in for the first time
- Onboarding Wizard — Walk through the guided setup that configures your company profile, sites, modules, and team
The onboarding wizard follows OSHA's recommended six-step HazCom program structure, so by the time you finish setup, your compliance foundation is already in place.
What Happens During Onboarding
The onboarding wizard takes about 10-15 minutes and covers:
| Step | What You Do | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| Industry & Company Type | Select your industry (e.g., manufacturing, pest control, laboratories) | Tellus configures module recommendations and compliance rules for your industry |
| Plan & Modules | Choose your subscription tier and enable the modules you need | Determines which features are available to your team |
| Company Details | Enter your company name, address, and contact information | Used across plans, reports, and compliance documents |
| Program Coordinator | Designate the person responsible for your HazCom program (OSHA Step 1) | Required by 29 CFR 1910.1200 — OSHA expects a named individual |
| Roles & Permissions | Configure custom roles or use the defaults | Controls who can do what across the platform |
| Sites | Add your physical locations | Each site tracks its own chemicals, plans, and training |
| Locations | Add areas within each site (e.g., warehouse, lab, loading dock) | Chemicals and quantities are tracked per location |
| Team | Invite your team members and assign roles | Gets your people into the platform and ready to work |
| Finalize | Review everything and complete setup | Your compliance program is live |
Once onboarding is complete, Tellus immediately begins monitoring your compliance posture and will guide you toward your next steps.
