Trainer Quickstart

You've been given the Trainer role in Tellus, which means you're responsible for building and managing safety training for your organization. SafePath is Tellus's training module, and it gives you everything you need to create courses, deliver them to employees, and track completion.
Step 1: Navigate to SafePath
Click SafePath in the sidebar to open the training module. You'll see the SafePath dashboard, which shows an overview of courses, assignments, and completion rates across your organization.
Step 2: Run the Quickstart Wizard
If this is your first time in SafePath, the Quickstart Wizard walks you through initial setup. It helps you configure your training program structure, including course categories, default settings, and assignment preferences. This takes just a few minutes and saves time later.
Step 3: Create Your First Course
Click Create Course to start building. Give your course a title, description, and category (e.g., HazCom, General Safety, Site-Specific). Categories help organize your training library and make it easier for employees to find relevant courses.
Step 4: Add Lessons and a Quiz
Build out your course with lessons. Each lesson can include:
- Text content -- Written instructions, procedures, or safety information
- Video -- Embedded training videos
- PDF documents -- Attach reference materials like SDS summaries or procedures
After your lessons, add a quiz to verify comprehension. Set a passing score and choose how many attempts employees get. Quizzes are how you prove to OSHA that employees understood the training, not just sat through it.
Step 5: Assign the Course
Assign your course to specific employees, entire sites, or roles. Assigned employees receive a notification and see the course in their My Training queue. You can set due dates and track who has started, completed, or fallen behind.
Step 6: Check Completion Status
Return to the SafePath dashboard to monitor progress. You'll see completion rates, overdue assignments, and individual employee status. When employees pass their quiz, Tellus generates a training certificate automatically.
