Consultant Quickstart

For: Consultant | Tier: Pro

Tellus EHS is built for consultants who manage compliance programs across multiple client companies. With a single account, you can switch between clients, manage their chemical inventories, build their HazCom plans, and oversee training -- all without logging out.

Step 1: Accept Your First Client Invitation

Your first client company's admin sends you an invitation email. Click the link to create your Tellus account and set your password. You'll land on that client's company dashboard with admin-level access to their compliance program.

Step 2: Get Oriented

Take a few minutes to explore the dashboard. As a consultant with admin-level permissions, you can do everything the client's own admin can do:

  • Upload Safety Data Sheets and manage the chemical inventory in ChemIQ
  • Create and publish the Written HazCom Program in Plan Builder
  • Set up training courses and assign them to employees in SafePath
  • Manage sites, locations, and user roles in AdminHQ
  • Monitor compliance scores and identify gaps in Insights

Step 3: Add More Clients

To manage additional client companies, ask each client's admin to invite you from their AdminHQ user management page. Each invitation links to your existing Tellus account -- you don't need to create a new one.

Step 4: Switch Between Companies

Use the company selector in the top header bar to switch between your client companies. Click it to see a list of every company you have access to, then select the one you want to work in.

Each company's data is completely isolated. When you switch to a client, you see only that client's chemicals, plans, training, users, and sites. There is no cross-contamination of data between companies.

Step 5: Set Up Each Client

For every new client, follow the same process:

  1. Complete or review the onboarding wizard settings
  2. Add sites and locations
  3. Upload Safety Data Sheets
  4. Assign a program coordinator from the client's staff
  5. Build their Written HazCom Program
  6. Set up employee training

The Admin Quickstart covers these steps in detail.

Tips for Managing Multiple Clients

  • Always check the company selector before making changes. It's easy to accidentally work in the wrong client's environment.
  • Each client needs their own coordinator. You can advise and build the program, but OSHA requires the employer to designate a coordinator from their own staff.
  • Use Insights for each client to quickly assess where their compliance gaps are and prioritize your work.
  • The Pro tier is required for multi-company consultant access. Make sure your clients' plans support the features they need.
