Tellus keeps you informed with real-time in-app notifications and email alerts. You'll always know when something needs your attention — from training deadlines to compliance gaps.
How Notifications Work
- In-app notifications appear in your notification bell inside the platform
- Email alerts are sent for time-sensitive or important events
- You can toggle email notifications on or off from your profile settings
Chemical Inventory Notifications

Push Notifications
In addition to in-app and email alerts, you can receive push notifications directly on your device — even when Tellus is not open in your browser. Push notifications are ideal for time-sensitive alerts like compliance deadlines and overdue training.
What You Receive via Push
- Compliance alerts — Compliance gaps detected, regulatory deadlines approaching
- Inventory warnings — Chemical quantity exceeds a regulatory threshold
- Training reminders — Assignments due soon, overdue training
- SDS alerts — SDS expiring soon
- Plan updates — Plan approved, plan rejected, revision requested
How to Enable
After signing in, a "Stay updated" prompt appears in the bottom-left corner. Click Enable notifications and allow the browser permission. You can manage or revoke notification permissions at any time through your browser settings.
Push notifications are available on all tiers and work on Chrome, Edge, Safari (mobile), and Firefox (mobile). See Mobile App & Offline Access for full setup details and browser compatibility.
Email Alert Priority
Email notifications are styled by urgency so you can quickly identify what needs immediate attention:
- Urgent — Training overdue, certification expired, quantity threshold exceeded, AI generation failed
- Warning — Training reminder, certification expiring, SDS expiring, plan rejected
- Normal — Plan approved, plan published, import complete, AI generation complete
