Organization Profile
For: Admin
Your organization profile is the foundation of your Tellus account. It holds your company's legal name, address, industry classification, and regulatory identifiers. This information isn't just for show — it flows directly into your HazCom plans, exported compliance reports, GHS labels, and training certificates. Keeping it accurate means your documentation is always audit-ready.
Company Details
The Profile tab in AdminHQ stores your core company information:
- Legal Company Name — Your company's official registered name as it appears on legal documents
- Display Name — A shorter or trade name used throughout the Tellus interface (e.g., "ABC Pest Control" instead of "ABC Pest Control Services, LLC")
- Street Address, City, State, ZIP — Your company's primary business address
- Phone Number — Main business phone
- Website — Your company website URL
- Industry Type — Your industry classification (selected during onboarding), which determines your available modules and compliance recommendations
- Business Size — Employee count range, used for OSHA small business exemption checks and plan recommendations
Company Identifiers
Identifiers connect your Tellus account to external regulatory systems. You don't need all of them on day one, but adding them ensures your exported reports and plans include the right reference numbers.
| Identifier | What It Is | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| EIN (Employer Identification Number) | Your federal tax identification number assigned by the IRS. Format: XX-XXXXXXX. | Required on many compliance filings and official OSHA correspondence. If you employ anyone, you have one. |
| EPA Facility ID | A unique identifier assigned by the EPA to facilities that generate, transport, treat, store, or dispose of hazardous waste. | Required for RCRA reporting, Tier II submissions, and TRI (Toxics Release Inventory) filings. If your site handles hazardous waste, you likely need this. |
| D-U-N-S Number | A nine-digit identifier issued by Dun & Bradstreet that uniquely identifies your business entity. | Used for government contracts, grant applications, and business credit verification. Not required for OSHA compliance but helpful for cross-referencing. |
| State License Numbers | State-specific licenses relevant to your industry (e.g., pest control applicator license, contractor license). | Some states require these numbers on chemical handling documentation and safety plans. |
Org Units (Coming Soon)
For companies with departmental structures, the Org Units tab lets you define your organizational hierarchy — departments, divisions, and teams. Org units help you organize training assignments and reporting by department rather than just by site.
Localization
The Localization tab configures regional settings for your account:
- Timezone — Used for scheduling, report timestamps, and training due dates
- Language — Interface language preference (English and Spanish currently supported)
