PDF Export

The Plan Builder generates professional PDF documents from your HazCom plan that are ready for printing, sharing with inspectors, or filing with your compliance records. Every PDF is tied to a specific plan version, ensuring historical accuracy even after newer versions are published.

For: Admin, Coordinator, Manager | Tier: Standard+

What the PDF Contains

Your exported PDF includes:

  • Cover page -- Company name, site name, plan name, version number, effective date, and Program Coordinator details
  • Table of contents -- Links to all 7 OSHA sections for easy navigation
  • Full plan content -- All 7 sections of your Written HazCom Program, formatted with headings, paragraphs, lists, and tables
  • Approval details -- Who approved the plan and when
  • Version metadata -- Version number, creation date, and approval date

How to Export

  1. Open the plan you want to export from the HazCom Plan Hub
  2. Click Export PDF from the plan editor or plan view page
  3. The PDF is generated and downloads to your device immediately

The export is logged in the Audit Trail, so you have a record of when the PDF was generated and by whom.

Version-Specific Exports

PDFs are tied to the specific plan version at the time of export. This means:

  • Exporting v1.0 always produces the same document, even after v2.0 is published
  • Exporting v2.0 produces a document reflecting the v2.0 content
  • You can export any version -- active, approved, or archived -- for comparison or record-keeping

This is important for compliance records. If an OSHA inspector asks for the plan that was in effect on a particular date, you can export the version that was active at that time.

Tips

  • Export after publishing. The PDF reflects the plan content at the time of export. Export after publishing to get the final, approved version.
  • Keep a copy on file. Even though your plan is always available digitally in Tellus, maintaining a physical or locally-stored PDF copy is good practice for backup.
  • Export old versions for comparison. When creating a new version, export both the old and new versions to document what changed and why.
