HazCom Plan Hub

The HazCom Plan Hub is your central command center for everything related to your Written Hazard Communication Program. From here you can create new plans, track pending approvals, view published plans, and review your complete audit history.

For: Admin, Coordinator, Manager, Employee | Tier: Standard+

The hub uses a left-side navigation with four tabs. The tabs you see depend on your role and permissions.

TabWhat It ShowsWho Can See It
Build Your PlanList of all plans for the current site. Create new plans, open existing drafts for editing.Users with Edit permission
Versioning & ApprovalsPlans organized by status -- Pending Approval, Approved, and Archived.Users with Approve permission
View PlanPublished (active) plans available for all employees to read. All users with View permission
Audit TrailComplete change log for all plan activity at the current site.Users with Edit permission

Select a site from the top navigation bar to filter plans for that location. Each site has its own plans -- there is no cross-site plan view.

Build Your Plan Tab

This is where plan authors do their work. The tab displays a searchable, filterable table of all HazCom plans for the selected site.

What you see for each plan:

  • Plan Name -- The name you gave the plan (e.g., "Main Facility HazCom Program 2026")
  • Plan Type -- Basic or Premium (AI-Powered)
  • Coordinator -- The designated Program Coordinator for this plan
  • Version -- Current version number (e.g., v1.0, v2.0)
  • Status -- Current lifecycle stage (Draft, Pending Approval, Approved, Active, Archived)
  • Effective Date -- When the plan was published
  • Next Review -- When the plan is due for annual review

Use the search bar to find plans by name or coordinator. Use the status dropdown to filter by Draft, Pending Approval, Approved, Active, or Archived.

Click Create Plan to start a new HazCom plan. Click any plan row to open it.

Versioning & Approvals Tab

This tab gives reviewers a clear view of plans that need attention. Plans are organized into three sections:

Pending Approval

Plans that have been submitted for review and are waiting for someone to approve or reject them. Each card shows the plan name, type, version number, coordinator, and effective date. Click Review to open the plan and make your decision.

Approved Plans

Plans that have been approved but not yet published. These are ready for the final step -- click into the plan and publish it to make it active.

Archived Versions

Previous plan versions that have been superseded by newer publications. Archived plans are read-only but remain accessible for reference and compliance records.

View Plan Tab

This is the employee-facing view. It shows the currently active (published) plan for the selected site. Employees can read through all sections of the plan without the ability to edit.

If no plan has been published yet for a site, this tab displays a message indicating that no active plan is available.

Audit Trail Tab

A company-wide audit log showing every action taken on any HazCom plan at the current site. This is the same audit trail described in detail on the Audit Trail page, but scoped to the site selected in your top navigation.

You can filter by action type, category, and date range. Export the full log as a CSV file for your compliance records.

Plan Status Lifecycle

Every HazCom plan moves through a defined set of statuses:

StatusMeaningWhat You Can Do
DraftPlan is being created or editedEdit questionnaire answers, generate content, edit sections, submit for approval
Pending ApprovalPlan has been submitted and is waiting for reviewApprove (with optional notes) or reject (with required reason)
ApprovedPlan passed reviewPublish to make it the active plan for the site
ActivePlan is published and visible to all employeesCreate a new version if updates are needed
ArchivedPlan has been replaced by a newer published versionView for reference, create a new version from it

Key rules:

  • Only Draft plans can be edited. Once submitted, the plan is locked until approved or rejected.
  • Only one active plan per site at any time. Publishing a new plan automatically archives the previous one.
  • Rejection returns a plan to Draft status with the reviewer's feedback attached.
  • Creating a new version from an Active or Archived plan produces a new Draft with all content carried forward.
