Complete the Plan Questionnaire
This guide walks you through answering the plan questionnaire, which generates the content for your Written Hazard Communication Program.

Steps
- Open your plan from the Build Your Plan tab in the HazCom Plan Hub
- If you have not completed the Readiness Check yet, review your company data and chemical inventory. Confirm the chemical list is accurate and exclude any chemicals that are no longer on-site or exempt. Click
Confirm & Continue. - You are now in the questionnaire. The 7 OSHA sections appear as tabs along the left side:
- Company & Site Information
- Chemical Inventory
- Container Labeling
- Safety Data Sheets
- Employee Training
- Non-Routine Tasks
- Contractor Coordination
- Work through each section. Answer the questions based on your actual workplace procedures. Required questions are marked with an asterisk.
- Click
Save & Nextto save your answers and advance to the next section. ClickPreviousto go back. - If you are on an AI-Powered plan, look for AI suggestion badges below questions. Click
Acceptto use the suggestion orDismissto enter your own answer. - Repeat for all 7 sections until every required question is answered.
Tips
- You do not have to finish in one sitting. Your progress is saved automatically when you navigate between sections. Close the browser and come back later -- your answers will still be there.
- Use "Not sure" when you need to. It is better to flag a question for follow-up than to guess. You can return and update it before generating the plan.
- Be specific to your workplace. Describe your actual procedures. Generic answers produce generic plans that will not impress an OSHA inspector.
- Involve the right people. The coordinator may know training procedures, but the site manager may know container labeling practices better. Share the work.
- Pre-filled fields come from your Tellus data. If the company name, site address, or coordinator details look wrong, update them in AdminHQ and the questionnaire will reflect the change.
After the Questionnaire
Once all sections are complete, you can generate your plan content. On Basic plans, click Generate Plan to compile your answers into a formatted document. On AI-Powered plans, use the AI Generation Panel to generate consultant-grade content.
After generation, review and edit the content in the Plan Editor, then submit for approval.
