Review Training Insights

For: Admin, Manager, Coordinator, Trainer | Tier: Standard+

Training Insights shows you whether your team is keeping up with their safety training. Here's how to review the data, catch overdue assignments, and stay ahead of expiring certifications.

Steps​

  1. Navigate to Training Insights — Click Insights in the sidebar, then select Training Insights from the dashboard menu.

  2. Check Completion Rates — The overall completion rate tells you what percentage of all training assignments are done. Look at the breakdown by site and by course to spot patterns:

    • Low completion at a specific site? That site may need a manager follow-up or dedicated training time.
    • Low completion for a specific course? The course may be too long, poorly scheduled, or employees may not understand its importance.

  3. Identify Overdue Training — The overdue section lists every assignment that is past its due date. This is your most urgent compliance gap. Click any overdue item to see the specific employee and course. From there, you can:

    • Send the employee a reminder
    • Extend the due date if circumstances warrant
    • Escalate to their site manager

  4. Review Upcoming Certification Expirations — Check the 30-day, 60-day, and 90-day expiration views:

    • 30-day expirations — Schedule retraining immediately
    • 60-day expirations — Begin planning retraining
    • 90-day expirations — Add to your training calendar for the quarter

  5. Analyze Quiz Performance — Scroll to the quiz section to see average scores and most-missed questions. If a particular question is consistently missed, your training content on that topic may need to be improved.

  6. Export for Management Reviews — Click Export to generate a CSV or PDF report. Training completion reports are commonly requested during management reviews, OSHA inspections, and client audits.

Tips​

  • Aim for 90%+ completion — Anything below 75% signals a systemic training gap that needs management attention, not just individual follow-ups.
  • Check weekly — Training overdue counts can grow quickly. A weekly check keeps small issues from becoming large compliance problems.
  • Use the most-missed questions data — This is free insight into where your team's knowledge gaps are. Update your training content to address the topics people struggle with most.
  • Set up automations — If you're constantly reassigning training for expiring certifications, consider setting up auto-assignment rules in SafePath to handle renewals automatically.
