SafePath Quickstart Wizard

For: Admin, Trainer | Tier: Standard and Pro

The Quickstart Wizard walks you through the essential setup steps to get SafePath ready for your team. Instead of figuring out where to start on your own, the wizard provides a clear checklist that takes you from zero to a functioning training program in minutes.


How It Works

When you first open SafePath, a Quickstart Status Banner appears at the top of your Admin Dashboard. This banner shows your setup progress — how many steps you have completed and how many remain.

Click on any step in the banner to jump directly to that part of the setup. As you complete each step, the banner updates to reflect your progress.

Once all steps are complete (or when you decide you are ready to dismiss it), the banner disappears and your dashboard shows only your normal training analytics.


Setup Steps

The Quickstart Wizard guides you through the following steps, in order:

Step 1: Configure Training Categories

Review and customize the course categories available in your SafePath library. SafePath comes with 16 pre-built OSHA-aligned categories (HazCom, Fall Protection, LOTO, etc.), and you can add custom categories to match your organization's specific needs.

Step 2: Create or Import Your First Course

Build your first training course from scratch, or use the AI Course Generator (Pro tier) to create one from your published HazCom plan. This step ensures you have at least one course ready to assign.

Step 3: Set Up Your First Assignment

Assign your course to employees. Choose who should take it (individuals, a site, or a role), set a due date, and create the assignment. This step gets training in front of your team.

Step 4: Enable Automation Rules (Optional)

Set up auto-assignment rules so that future training needs are handled automatically. This step is optional but recommended — it ensures new hires and role changes are covered without manual intervention.

Quickstart Status Banner

The banner shows a visual progress indicator:

  • Completed steps are marked with a checkmark
  • Current step is highlighted and ready for action
  • Remaining steps are grayed out until you reach them

You can complete the steps in order or jump ahead to any step. The wizard does not enforce a strict sequence — if you want to set up automation before creating your first assignment, that works too.


After the Quickstart

Once you have completed the wizard, your SafePath module is ready for full use. From here, you can:

  • Add more courses to your library
  • Build out your training matrix with role-based requirements
  • Track certifications and set up expiration alerts
  • Run reports to monitor compliance across your organization

The Quickstart Wizard is a starting point, not a limitation. Every feature in SafePath is available whether or not you have completed the wizard.
