AI Course Generator
For: Trainer, Admin | Tier: Pro
The AI Course Generator creates complete training courses from your published HazCom plan — including lessons, quiz questions, and chemical-specific content drawn from your actual inventory. What would take hours of manual course creation is done in minutes.
Why AI-Generated Courses?
Writing a good HazCom training course is time-consuming. You need to cover the right regulatory topics, reference the actual chemicals at each site, include the correct GHS hazard information, and build quiz questions that test real comprehension. Most safety managers either spend days creating courses from scratch or pay for generic training that does not reflect their specific workplace.
The AI Course Generator solves this by using information you already have:
- Your published HazCom plan — which contains your chemical hazard communication procedures, emergency protocols, and compliance policies
- Your ChemIQ chemical inventory — the actual chemicals at each site, with their GHS classifications, hazard statements, and PPE requirements
The result is a training course tailored to your workplace — not a generic one-size-fits-all module.
How It Works
Step 1: Start Generation
- Go to SafePath then Courses
- Click
Generate from HazCom Plan - Select your published HazCom plan from the dropdown (only published plans are available)
- Select the site you want the course to cover
- Click
Generate
Step 2: AI Creates the Course
The AI analyzes your HazCom plan and site-specific chemical inventory, then generates:
- Lessons covering the key sections of your plan — chemical hazards present at the site, how to read labels and SDSs, protective measures, and emergency procedures
- Chemical-specific content based on the actual products in your ChemIQ inventory at that site — including GHS pictograms, hazard categories, and recommended PPE
- Quiz questions that test employee understanding of the material, aligned with OSHA's training requirements under 29 CFR 1910.1200(h)
Step 3: Review and Customize
The generated course is saved as a Draft. Before publishing, you should:
- Review each lesson for accuracy and completeness
- Add, remove, or edit content to match your specific procedures
- Adjust quiz questions and passing scores as needed
- Add any supplemental materials (videos, PDFs) you want to include
Step 4: Publish
When you are satisfied with the content, publish the course and it is ready to assign to employees.
See How-To: Generate a HazCom Training Course with AI for the step-by-step guide.
What the AI Generates
| Content Element | Source |
|---|---|
| Chemical hazard overview | Your site's ChemIQ inventory and GHS classifications |
| Label reading instructions | Your HazCom plan's labeling procedures |
| SDS interpretation guide | Your HazCom plan's SDS access procedures |
| PPE requirements | SDS Section 8 data and PPE recommendations from ChemIQ |
| Emergency procedures | Your HazCom plan's emergency and first aid sections |
| Quiz questions | Generated from lesson content, mapped to OSHA training requirements |
Prerequisites
To use the AI Course Generator, you need:
- A Pro tier subscription
- A published HazCom plan in the Plan Builder module
- A chemical inventory in ChemIQ for the site you want to cover
The more complete your inventory and HazCom plan, the better the generated course will be. If your ChemIQ inventory has full SDS data parsed for each chemical, the AI can reference specific hazard information, exposure limits, and protective measures.
Important Notes
- AI-generated courses are always created as Drafts — they are never published automatically
- Always review the generated content before publishing. The AI produces high-quality starting material, but you know your workplace best.
- You can regenerate a course at any time if your HazCom plan or inventory changes significantly
- Generated courses can be freely edited just like any manually created course
